The Aerogold Visa by CIBC is a popular travel rewards card part of the Aeroplan rewards program. The credit has a high rate of interest and annual fees but offers many benefits including a comprehensive rewards program and many included insurance options.

With this rewards card, earn 1.5 Aeroplan Miles for every dollar spent on gas, groceries or at drug stores. All other purchases earn one Mile for every dollar spent. After you make your first succesful purchase, recieve 15,000 bonus Miles. Aeroplan recently overhauled their rewards system which removes the restrictions on the number of seats reserved for rewards. Miles can also be redeemed for activities, merchandise, donations and carbon offset.

The CIBC Aerogold Visa also includes car rental insurance, flight delay and baggage insurance and travel accident insurance. Travel Medical Insurance, Trip Cancellation/ Trip Interruption Insurance and Balance Protection insurance can be added for a fee.
